ORDINANCE No. 435 <br />By Idly. Endress <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZIlVG THE SECURING OF 1~IEP~IBERSHTP <br />IN THE OHIO MUNICIPAL LEAGUE FOR THE V]ZLAGE OF . <br />MAYFIELD.AND THE PAYMENT OF DUES FOR SUCH PURPOSE. <br />WHEREAS, the cities and villages of Ohio have organized themselves <br />into the Ohio ?~unicipal League for the improvement of municipal government <br />and administration and the promotion of the general welfare of the cities <br />and villages of this State by appropriate means, including but not limited <br />to the following: <br />(a) the maintenance of a central bureau of information and <br />research for the collection, analysis, and dissemination <br />of municipal information; <br />(b) the fostering of conferences of municipal officials, schools <br />_ and short courses for the discussion and study of municipal <br />problems and the techniques involved ixi their solution; the <br />rendering of such special and general services as may be <br />deemed advisable' the publication and circulation of an <br />official magazine and such bulletins and reports on municipal <br />government as may be.compiled from time to time; and <br />(c) the securing of the oo-operation of universities and <br />_ institutions of higher learning in furnishing the services of~ <br />members of the faculty and students in assembling and analyzing <br />information concerning"municipal government and in the conduct <br />of schools and short courses in the field of municipal <br />administration; <br />{d) the s.eauring of harmony of action among the municipalities <br />of Ohio and other agencies of government in all matters <br />whicYi affect the citizens of Ohio in creating the awareness <br />of all levels of government of the problems of municipal <br />government in Ohio by presenting the facts and experiences <br />upon which to formulate sound municipal policies; and <br />AREAS, in order to make this organization effective and to <br />derive the ma_•~ m~ benefits therefrom, it is necessary and desirable that <br />the Village of Mayfield secure and pay for membership in the said The Ohio <br />Municipal League. <br />NOti'V THEREFORE BE 1'r ORDAINED BY THE COUNCT.L OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD' <br />Sec. 1. That it is hereby determined after due and careful consider- <br />ation that m~ership in The Ohio I~dunicipal League is advantageous to the <br />Village of Mayfield. and should be obtained in the public interest of its <br />citizens. <br />
