ORDINANCE No. 435 By Idly. Endress AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZIlVG THE SECURING OF 1~IEP~IBERSHTP IN THE OHIO MUNICIPAL LEAGUE FOR THE V]ZLAGE OF . MAYFIELD.AND THE PAYMENT OF DUES FOR SUCH PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the cities and villages of Ohio have organized themselves into the Ohio ?~unicipal League for the improvement of municipal government and administration and the promotion of the general welfare of the cities and villages of this State by appropriate means, including but not limited to the following: (a) the maintenance of a central bureau of information and research for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of municipal information; (b) the fostering of conferences of municipal officials, schools _ and short courses for the discussion and study of municipal problems and the techniques involved ixi their solution; the rendering of such special and general services as may be deemed advisable' the publication and circulation of an official magazine and such bulletins and reports on municipal government as may be.compiled from time to time; and (c) the securing of the oo-operation of universities and _ institutions of higher learning in furnishing the services of~ members of the faculty and students in assembling and analyzing information concerning"municipal government and in the conduct of schools and short courses in the field of municipal administration; {d) the s.eauring of harmony of action among the municipalities of Ohio and other agencies of government in all matters whicYi affect the citizens of Ohio in creating the awareness of all levels of government of the problems of municipal government in Ohio by presenting the facts and experiences upon which to formulate sound municipal policies; and AREAS, in order to make this organization effective and to derive the ma_•~ m~ benefits therefrom, it is necessary and desirable that the Village of Mayfield secure and pay for membership in the said The Ohio Municipal League. NOti'V THEREFORE BE 1'r ORDAINED BY THE COUNCT.L OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD' Sec. 1. That it is hereby determined after due and careful consider- ation that m~ership in The Ohio I~dunicipal League is advantageous to the Village of Mayfield. and should be obtained in the public interest of its citizens.
