ORDIIvTANCE No, 582 <br />r~. Strater <br />AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE OPERATION OF PUBLIC <br />VEHICLES FOR HIRE IN.. THE VILLAGE OF - HA.YFIELD.... . <br />_ _ - _ - ... <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, CU'YAHOGA COUNPY <br />OHIO, THAT: - - . - _ - - _ - <br />Sec. 1. Definition of Public Vehicle. For the purposes of this ordinance, . <br />' a public.vehicle is defined to .be any vehicle plying for hire upon the public <br />highways of the Village of Hayfield for which public patronage is solicited <br />or any vehicle transporting for hire passengers obtained within the Village of <br />Mayfield except motor buses operated on regular schedules and regularly established <br />routes. - <br />Sec. 2. Licensing of Public Vehicles: Tr~sfers of Licensees. From and <br />after tz~e effective .date of this ordinance no public vehicle shall operate for <br />hire upon the streets and highways of the Village of Hayfield unless a license <br />therefor shall have been issued under the provisions of this ordinance and <br />shall be in full force and effect. Any such license sha]1 be issued by the <br />Mayor, shall be issued as of January.lst in any year, and shall expire on the <br />31st day of December, next succeeding, unless sooner suspended or revoked by <br />the Hla.yor. <br />Any such license shall be issued upon and subject to the following <br />conditions: <br />(a) AppLcation for a public vehicle license shall be made by the owner, <br />in such manner and form as the Mayor n~.y provide, but to contain <br />the full name and address of the owner, the class of vehicle to be <br />licensed, the length of time such vehicle has been .in use, the <br />number of persons it is capable of carrying, and, iri cases of <br />motor vehicles, the motor power thereof. <br />(b) The applicant for such license -shall file with the NZayor a: Surety <br />Bond or policy of insurance campl,~Ting with the pro~risions of Section <br />~ hereof. <br />(e) The vehicle licensed shall, upon inspec-L-ion pursuant to such reason- <br />,. able rules and regulations as may for that purpose be issued by the <br />Mayor, be found and certified by the Ir_spector designated by the <br />Mayor to be clean, fit and in thoroughly safe condition for the <br />transportation of passengers. <br />(d) The applicant shall pay the license fee provided in Section 6 hereof. <br />The Mayor shall, following issuance of any such license, cause inspection <br />of the. licensed public vehicle to be made at intervals of not.more than ninety <br />(90) days during the operation of such public vehicle and shall revoke or <br />suspend the license for operation of such public vehicle whenever it shall <br />appear from such inspection that such public vehicle has not been maintained <br />in clean, fit and thoroughly safe condition for the transportation of passengers. <br />
