persons within and outside of the Village of Mayfield who have failed to <br />appear in the Mayor's Court of this Village in response to any warrant, <br />summons or arrest notice or orders of the T~7ayor. Special arrangements <br />may be made by Council with special policemen whereby they shall not be <br />paid for police ser-,tices performed in connection with the operation of <br />their o~m businesses or of businesses for which they are compensated <br />by the o5aners thereof. <br />Sec, ~.. Each member of the Police Department shall give bond in <br />the amount of X500.00, w:i.th good and sufficient surety, to be approved <br />by the Mayor. • <br />Sec. 5. Duties of Officers® The Chief of PoLce shall be employed <br />on a full time basis as t~e ~~ea~e~= officer. of the Village and the executive <br />head of the Police Department under the Mayor. die Sergeant of Police <br />sha71 be employed on a full time basis and shall .assume the duties of the <br />Chief of PoLce when the latter is out of the Vi]1age, ill, or off duty. <br />Regular Policemen shall be employed on a fu]1 time basis and shall assist <br />the Chief of Police and the Sergeant of Police in the performance of <br />their duties. Special Policemen ehall assist the Chief of Police and <br />Sergeant of Police in the performance of their duties, shall be under <br />their direction and shall exercise all powers granted to .Special <br />Policemen by law. <br />Sec. 6. Existing Ordinance No. t~79, as amended. by Ordinance No. <br />518, and any other ordinances a.nconsistent herewith, are hereby repealed <br />on and after this date. <br />Sec. 7. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, <br />health, safety and welfai°e of the ~il.lage of Hayfield and its inhabitants, <br />because of the necessi"~y of providing the maximum police protection within <br />the limits of the funds available for that purpose, and shall take effect <br />and be in force from and after the date of its passage. <br />Passed this 17th day of June, 1957. <br />r;.
