ORDINANCE No, 730 - A <br />By Mro Belzer <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE.No. <br />? 583, AS AMENDED, BY INCREASTNG THE CONIPENSATION <br />OF M1ZZBERS OF THE_ POLICE DEPAR'i'IJENT <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCI-L OF THE VII,ZAGE OF NIA.YFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />OHIO, THAT: - ' <br />Sec. 1. Section 3 or Ordinance No. 583, entitleds "An Ordinance to <br />Provide for the Tenure and Compensation o£ Members of the Police Department, <br />to add the position of Sergeant of Police and to Repeal Ordinance No. 479, <br />as Amended by Ordinance No. 5481' , as amended by Ordinance No. 710, is hereby <br />amended to read, as follows: . <br />"Sec, 3e Compensation and A1lowance for Uniforms. The f ollowing <br />compensation shall be paid, beginning as of March 1, 1961, but may be <br />changed by Council, by Ordinance or Resolutions <br />Marshall or Chief of Police $6150.00 per year <br />Sergeant of Police $5550.00 per year <br />Regular Policeman, at the rate of $4800.00 per year <br />for a six month probationery period, <br />thereafter at the rate of $5000000 per year <br />In addition, the Tfarshall or Chief of Police, the Sergeant of <br />Police, and any Regular Policeman shall be paid at the rate of <br />' $1,75 for each hour spent by him in operating or assisting in <br />the operation of radar equipcuent on -the public highways in the <br />Village of rlayfield after his regular work shift or after his <br />, regular worlcing hours. <br />Special Policemen - - $ 1.75 per each hour <br />during which he serves on such an assignment by the Tiayor or Chief <br />of Police. The total number of hours to be served by all Special <br />Policemen during any one week shall not exceed 64, but Council <br />may change the maximum number of hours at any time by Ordinance <br />or Resolution. Provided, however, that the Mayor at his discretion <br />may authorize the employment of Special Policemen in excess of 64 <br />hours a week and the employment of regular policemen after their <br />rsgular working hours, at the rate of $1.75 per hour, for the <br />purpose of serving summons and notices_upon and arresting persons <br />within and outside of the Village of Nlayfield who have failed to <br />appear in the Mayorts Court of this Village in response to any <br />warrants, summons or arrest notice, or orders of the Mayor. <br />Special arrangements may be made by Council with Special Policemen <br />whereby they shall not be paid for police services performed in <br />connection with the operation of their own businesses or of <br />businesses for which they are compensated by the Owners thereof.
