ORDINANCE No, 730 - A By Mro Belzer AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE.No. ? 583, AS AMENDED, BY INCREASTNG THE CONIPENSATION OF M1ZZBERS OF THE_ POLICE DEPAR'i'IJENT BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCI-L OF THE VII,ZAGE OF NIA.YFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY OHIO, THAT: - ' Sec. 1. Section 3 or Ordinance No. 583, entitleds "An Ordinance to Provide for the Tenure and Compensation o£ Members of the Police Department, to add the position of Sergeant of Police and to Repeal Ordinance No. 479, as Amended by Ordinance No. 5481' , as amended by Ordinance No. 710, is hereby amended to read, as follows: . "Sec, 3e Compensation and A1lowance for Uniforms. The f ollowing compensation shall be paid, beginning as of March 1, 1961, but may be changed by Council, by Ordinance or Resolutions Marshall or Chief of Police $6150.00 per year Sergeant of Police $5550.00 per year Regular Policeman, at the rate of $4800.00 per year for a six month probationery period, thereafter at the rate of $5000000 per year In addition, the Tfarshall or Chief of Police, the Sergeant of Police, and any Regular Policeman shall be paid at the rate of ' $1,75 for each hour spent by him in operating or assisting in the operation of radar equipcuent on -the public highways in the Village of rlayfield after his regular work shift or after his , regular worlcing hours. Special Policemen - - $ 1.75 per each hour during which he serves on such an assignment by the Tiayor or Chief of Police. The total number of hours to be served by all Special Policemen during any one week shall not exceed 64, but Council may change the maximum number of hours at any time by Ordinance or Resolution. Provided, however, that the Mayor at his discretion may authorize the employment of Special Policemen in excess of 64 hours a week and the employment of regular policemen after their rsgular working hours, at the rate of $1.75 per hour, for the purpose of serving summons and notices_upon and arresting persons within and outside of the Village of Nlayfield who have failed to appear in the Mayorts Court of this Village in response to any warrants, summons or arrest notice, or orders of the Mayor. Special arrangements may be made by Council with Special Policemen whereby they shall not be paid for police services performed in connection with the operation of their own businesses or of businesses for which they are compensated by the Owners thereof.
