ORDINANCE No. 734 <br />By Mr. Belzer <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING A CASH BOND, LIABILITY INSURANCE, <br />' APPROVAL OF ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW, AND NOTICE <br />TO CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNERS., FOR MOVING, REMOVING, OR <br />DEMOLITION OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES OR SUBSTANTIAL PARTS <br />THEREOF, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES AND REMEDIES FOR <br />VIOLATION THEREOF. _ <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE- OF HAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY OHIO <br />THAT: <br />Sec. 1. No person, firm or corporation shall move, remove or demolish <br />any building or structure or substantial part thereof and no person shall receive <br />a permit for such work, unless he shall comply with all of the following require- <br />ments, unless waived by Council; within the Village of Mayfield, Ohio: <br />(a~ A cash bond in the amount of $1,000.00, or such larger <br />amount as the Building Inspector may in writing require <br />as in his judgment being necessary for the protection of <br />public and private property, shall be deposited with the <br />Village Clerk. Said deposit shall be refunded to the <br />person malting the same upon proof of his compliance with <br />all of the ordinances of the Village of Mayfield and other <br />laws applicable to the performance of such work and further <br />provided that he has compensated the Village of Mayfield <br />and any other person or persons entitled to such payment <br />for all property damage caused by the person making such <br />deposit in the performance of such work, and this applies <br />to any public damage to public roadse otherwise, the <br />~~~ Village may deduct from the amount of the cash deposit the <br />reasonable cost, as determined by the Building Inspector, <br />of repairing such damage and shall return to the permit <br />holder any unexpended balance. If the cost of repairing <br />such roads or property is in excess of the amount of the <br />cash deposit, the permit holder performing such work shall <br />nevertheless remain liable to the village or the property <br />owner or owners, as the case may be, for any excess damage. <br />(b) The permit holder shall carry liability insurance, protecting <br />the Village of Mayfield against liability in the amount of <br />$100,000.00 as to any one person and $300,000.00 as to all <br />persons by reason of personal injuries and death and in the <br />amount of $25,000.00 by reason of damage to property caused <br />by the work authorized by the permit. The Building Inspector <br />may require the permit holder to deposit said policy. or proof <br />thereof with him. <br />
