C~vC-~r~G~iL~~CJ ~ ! ti~ ~.J <br />"Sec. 30.8 SIGN REGULATIONS <br />All signs in the Districts established under this Section shall <br />be designed, erected, altered, reconstructed, moved or maintained, <br />in accordance with the regulations set forth as follows: <br />1. Definition of Sites <br />Signs, and the types of signs, are defined as follows: <br />a. Sign means any outdoor display, figure, painting, <br />drawing, message, placard, poster or other device <br />which is designed, intended or used to advertise, <br />inform or direct attention to a person, institution, <br />organization, activity, place, object or product. <br />Tt may be a structure or part thereof, or attached <br />to or painted directly or indirectly on a structure. <br />b. Types of Signs -Contents <br />Development or Identification sign, means a sign <br />directing attention to the sale, or lease of the <br />lot on which the sign is located, or a sign indicat- <br />ing the name, owner, or manager of a development of <br />the lot on which the sign is located. <br />Business, or Profess3.ona1_sign. means a sign which <br />directs attention to the name of a profession, bans- <br />iness or establishment, the goods or commodities <br />sold and/or services rendered on the lot on which <br />the sign is located. <br />Directional sign :peans a sign indicating the direction <br />to which a ttention is called either on the lot on <br />which the sign is located or to another lot. <br />Informational sign means a sign which is designed to <br />give general information of special interest to the <br />traveling public. Such signs shall be limited to <br />information about the location of places for lodging, <br />eating or vehicle service, natural phenomena, <br />historic sites, areas of natural scenic beauty or <br />outdoor recreation facilities. Such signs are not <br />permitted by right but may be located on the lot <br />occupied by the activity or facility or on a lot <br />removed therefrom and along a major street if <br />authorized by the Commission. <br />2. General advertising sign means a sign directing attention <br />to a specific business, product, service, entertainment <br />or any other activity sold, offered or conducted <br />elsewhere than upon the same lot on which the sign <br />is located. Such general advertising signs, if not <br />classified as informational or directional signs, <br />shall not be permitted in the Village. <br />-17- <br />
