3• Signs Permitted - Design Types <br />Signs permitted in the Districts established under <br />this Section are herein classified according to <br />design and construction, as follows: <br />a. Wall sign means a sign erected parallel to or painted <br />on the surface, or integral with the wa 11 of any <br />building. <br />b. Projecting sign means a sign, other than a wall sign, <br />erected on the outside wall of a building and which <br />projects out at an angle therefrom.. <br />c. Marquee sign means a sign attached to the soffit or <br />fascia of a marquee, to a roof over an entrance, or <br />to a permanent awning. <br />d. Ground sign means a sign which is supported by one <br />or more uprights, poles or braces in or upon the <br />ground. <br />e. Pole sign means a sign which is supported wholly <br />• by a pole or poles and designed so as to permit <br />pedestrian or vehicular traffic thereunder. <br />~.. area of Sign . <br />The area. of a sign shall be construed as the area of <br />the display surface of a panel or a structure available <br />for the purpose of displaying the advertising message; <br />for signs which are integral with a wall and.not <br />designed as a panel, the area of a sign shall be <br />construed as the area within an outline enclosing the <br />lettering, modeling or• insignia. <br />The area of a sign, or signs, permitted for any <br />development, establishment or lot shall be the total <br />area of all the faces of the signs visible to traffic <br />proceeding in any one direction on any of one public <br />ways. <br />5. Signs - Within 660 Feet of Interstate System <br />Signs shall be erected and maintained. in general accord <br />with the Federal and Ohio laws in regard to advertising <br />devices along the Interstate System which are incor- <br />porated herein and in accord with the regulations <br />and schedules establis hed herein as follows: <br />i <br />-18- <br />
