Relation to Public Mays <br />Signs shall not project over a public vehicular <br />or pedestrian way. <br />8. HeiF,ht of Signs <br />All signs shall comply with the following height regu- <br />lations: <br />Minimum height, the lowest member of any sign which <br />is not integral with a wall surface, shall be not less <br />than 8 feet above the finished grade or pavement of a <br />pedestrian way, or less than lI~ feet if over a paved <br />ment used for vehicular circulation., <br />The space tinder any sign, if less than the above <br />minimum heights shall be designed and constructed so <br />as to prevent the movement of pedestrian or vehicular <br />traffic thereunder. <br />I~7a.ximum height, the highest member of any pole or <br />grotand sign in any district shall not exceed feet <br />above the finished grade at the locatim of tt~e sign. <br />9. Illtamination of Signs <br />Light sources to illuminate signs shall be reflected <br />and shielded, except neontubing may be exposed and it <br />shall not be of such brightness so as to cause glare <br />hazardous to pedestrians or auto drivers or so as to <br />cause reasonable objection from adjacent residential <br />districts. Advertising devices which attempt or <br />appear to attempt to direct the movement of traffic or <br />which interfere with, imitate, or resemble any official <br />sign, signal or device shall be prohibited. Signs <br />which include flashing, moving, or intermittent <br />illumination shall not be permitted by right; the <br />Commission may, however, make a finding and permit <br />such illumination under certain conditions. <br />10. Permit <br />Permits shall be required for all signs erected and <br />maintained in districts established under this Section <br />in accordance with procedures and fees established by <br />the Council. <br />-21- <br />
