LaRFFMFMT WHEREAS., Mayfield Village and the Village of Gates Mills are both municipal corporations established pursuant to the laws of the State of Ohio; and WHEREAS, Section 734.04 of the Ohio Revised Code provides that municipal corporations may contract with each other for the interchange of police services or equipment; and WHEREAS, Section 9.60 of the Ohio Revised Code provides that municipal corporations may contract with each other for the interchange of fire protection services, including, but- not limited to, ambulance and emergency medical service and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village have determined that it is in the best interests of the municipality to contract with the Village of Gates Mills for the imprisonment, maintenance, and reeding of May=ield Village prisoners; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Village of Gates Mills have determined that it is in the best interests of the municipality to contract with Mayfield Village for ambulance and emergency medical services; and WHEREAS, the Mayors and Councils of the respective municipalities have determined that the exchange of services, as aforesaid, constitutes a fair and equal exchange of services; and WHEREAS, the Mayors and Councils of the respective municipalities have further determined that the interchange of the aforementioned services will operate in the best interest o= the health, safety and welfar_e of the residents of each municipality; and WHEREAS, the Mayors and Councils have further determined that the aforementioned exchange of services should be established on a trial basis ror a period of six (6) months from and after the date on which the jail facility of the Village of Gates Mills is certified by the State of Ohio, Department of Rehabilita- tion and Correction; now, therefore, It is rnutually agreed by and between Mayfield Village, Ohio, as authorized by Resolution No. 84- 13.adopted by the Council of Mayfield Village on Mav 21, 1984 _, and the Village of Gates Mills, as authorized by Ordinance No. 2119 adopted by the Council of Gates Mills on May 14, 1984, as follows: l. From and after the date that the jail facility of Gates Mills is approved.by the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction o= the State of Ohio, the said municipality, in consideration for services to be provided by Mayrield Village as set forth hereinafter, agrees to receive, keep, board, maintain and, where appropriate, clothe all prisoners arrested by Mayfield or sentenced.by the Lyndhurst Municipal Court
