RESOLUTION NO. 88-60 <br />r Page -2- <br />passengers, the majority of £lights would necessarily <br />oceur during the rush hours when children are going to <br />and coming home from school; and <br />(c) A commuter airline would better serve the entire <br />community by operating out of Burke Lakefront Airport, <br />which is only twenty minutes driving time from Cuyahoga <br />County Airport. <br />NOW, THSR$FORS, Be It Resolved by the Council of Mayfield Village, <br />State of Ohio, that: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village do hereby <br />object to the establishment of a commuter sirline at Cuyahoga County <br />Airport due to the threat to the health, safety and welfare of its <br />citizens who are affected by the additional air traffic. <br />SECTION 2. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village do hereby <br />request that a full public hearing be convened at a time and place <br />convenient to the majority of the affected citizens before <br />consideration of any developments of this nature which would add <br />substantially to the level of traffic at Cuyahoga County Airport. <br />SECTION 3. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village do hereby <br />request that the Cuyahoga County Commissioners instruct the Director <br />of the Cuyahoga County Airport by resolution to refrain from entering <br />into any agreements, formal or informal, with any parties which <br />would result in the establishment of a commuter sirline at Cuyahoga <br />County Airport unless or until proven acceptance by the residents of <br />the Hillcrest Area. <br />SECTION 4. The Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this <br />Resolution to the Board of Commissioners of Cuyahoga County, the <br />State Representative serving Mayfield Village and surrounding areas, <br />Congressman Edward F. Feighan, State Senator Lee I. Fisher, State <br />Representatives Ronald J. Suster, U.S. Senators John Glenn and <br />Howard Metzenbaum and the Secretary of the Department of <br />Transportation of the United States of America. <br />SECTION 5. This Resolution is hereby determined to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public peace, health, safety and welfare of the citi2ens of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, for the reason to object to the establishment of a <br />commuter airline at the Cuyahoga County Airport as the same has a <br />direct bearing and relationship upon the health, safety and welfare
