M.V. ORDINANCE N0. 85-15 <br />Page -5- <br />in subsections D(1) and (2) hereinbelow, and continuing each <br />year thereaf ter, each full-time employee of the Police <br />Department having arrest powers and all full-time employees <br />of the Fire Department shall receive a uniform allowance in <br />the amount of Three Hunclred Fif ty Dollars ($350 .00 ) per year and <br />each full-time employ ee of the Police Department not having <br />arrest powers shall receive a unif orm allowance in the amount <br />of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00). The amounts stated for <br />uniform allowance herein may also be used for uniform <br />maintenance by the employee. 4. Each newly appointed Auxiliary Police Officer shall receive <br />an allowance in an amount not to exceed the sum of Five Hundred <br />Fifty Dollars ($550.00) for the purpose of items necessary to <br />equip such officer. The Chief of Police will issue a purchase <br />order as required. The municipality shall purchase for each <br />newly appointed Part-time Police Officer all items listed on <br />Schedule B attached hereto. In the event that such officer is <br />employed as a fwll-time Police Officer for another municipality, <br />or has previously served as a Mayfielc7 Village Auxiliary Police <br />Officer, and by reason thereof, has already had purchased f or him <br />any of the items appearing on Schedule B, and such items are fit <br />for use in Mayfield Village, then the Village will not purchase <br />such items f or the officer anc] he shall not be entitled to <br />receive the cash equivalent of any such item. <br />5. Each part-time firefighter shall receive an allowance for <br />unif orm maintenance in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred <br />Dollars ($200.00) provided such part-time firefighter attencis at <br />least twenty (20) drills annually. Any part-time firefighter who <br />does not attend at least twenty (20) drills during the year for- <br />feits any right to uniform allowance for the next calendar year. <br />6. The Finance Director is hereby authorized to reimburse all <br />members of the Police and Fire Departments for expenditures made <br />in accordance with subsections B(2),(3),(4) and (5) hereinabove, <br />provided, however, that receipted bills evidencing the purchase <br />are submitted together with an approval for payment by the <br />respective Chiefs of the Departments. The Finance Director is <br />further authorized to make such distributions during January and <br />July of each year for the prior six month period. <br />7. Whenever a uniform item is damaged or destroyed in the line <br />of duty then that item shall be replaced out of the uniform <br />allowance. However, should any employee's maintenance and <br />replacement costs in any year exceed the uniform allowance for <br />that year, upon presentation of receipts evidencing such excess <br />costs, and subject to the recommendation of the appropriate Chief <br />or department head, the employee may be reimbursed f or such
