M.V. ORDINANCE N0. 85-15 <br />Page -8- <br />5. All vacation time shall accrue to an employee on January lst <br />of each year and employees may take their vacation at any time <br />within the calendar year, subject to the approval of the head of <br />the department in which the employee works. <br />6. In the event an employee voluntarily leaves his employment <br />prior to December 31st of any year, his vacation time for that <br />year shall be prorated pursuant to the following f ormula: <br />accrued vacation daXs <br />days of th.e year (365) X number of days of the year, already <br />passed • <br />= vacation days earned <br />In the event an employee has alreacly taken more vacation time than <br />that to which he is entitled at the time he gives notice that he <br />is voluntarily terminating his employment, the Village of Mayfield <br />shall have the right to withhold all amounts otherwise owed the <br />employee to the extent,necessary to reimburse the Village of <br />Mayfield. <br />7. Vacations shall not be cumulative, but must be taken within <br />the year earned. Any vacation not taken within the year earnecl <br />shall be forfeited unless specific permission to carry-over <br />vacation time is obtainec7, in writing from the Mayor. <br />8. Year of employment ref ers to the 12 month period beginning <br />January lst and ending on December 31st. <br />9.
