M.V. ORDINANCE N0. 85-16 (7/18/86) <br />Page -20- <br />1185.15 Motorist Service, Office Laboratory and Production <br />Distribution Districts. <br />Accessory signs in motorist service, office laboratory and <br />production distribution districts shall be designed, erected, altered, <br />moved and maintained, in whole or in part, in accordance with the <br />following regulations: Areas shall be the same as the requirements of <br />Section 1185.15, except as otherwise stated herein. <br />(a) Functional Types Permitted. Development signs of a <br />temporary nature, directional signs, identification signs, name- <br />plate signs, real estate signs, security signs and such other <br />functional types as are specifically permitted by this Chapter. <br />(b) Structural Types Permitted. Ground, flat, wall, <br />directory. In addition, all pole signs existing as of the <br />effective date of this ordinance shall be permitted to remain in <br />Motorist-Service Districts provided that said pole signs are not <br />altered, expanded or enlarged and further provided that they are <br />kept maintained and in repair in accordance with all of the other <br />terms and conditions of this ordinance. No other pole signs <br />shall be erected anywhere within the municipality from and af ter <br />the effective date of this ordinance. <br />(c) Maximum Face Area. The maximum sign face area of all <br />permanent signs permitted for each separate use occupying a <br />building or unit of a building shall be related to the frontage <br />of the building or unit thereofp as determined by the following <br />formula: <br />Maximum sign fact area = W x 1.0 square feet except that <br />the total in all cases shall not exceed one hundred (100) <br />square feet. <br />The elements of such formula being defined as follows: <br />"Niaximum Sign Face Area" means the total area of one <br />surface of a permanent sign as definecl in Section 1185.05(a). <br />"W means the frontage of a building as defined <br />in Section 1185.04(b). <br />The lettering on all signs permitted in the districts <br />covered under this Section shall not exceed twenty four (24) <br />inches in height. All signs shall have white lettering on <br />a background of a darker color. <br />(d) Si,gns Permittedg Following are the regulations for <br />all signs permitted in the districts covered under this <br />Section. No sign permitted in any of the districts shall <br />be less than fifteen (15) feet to the sicle lot line. <br />(i) Development Signso One temporary development <br />sign not to exceed thirty two (32) square feet in <br />area and not to exceea six (6) feet in height above
