M.V. ORDINANCE N0. 85-16 <br />Page -21- . <br />natural grade announcing a proposed building or a building <br />under construction shall be permitted on the lot to be <br />occupied by the proposed building or building under <br />construction. Such sign shall be removed within <br />fourteen (14) days of the intended use of the project. <br />As an alternative to the f oregoing, two (2) signs not <br />to exceed thirty two (32) square feet in area shall be <br />permitted provided that they are placed in a"V" <br />f ormation. These siqns shall be treated as two (2) <br />separate signs and shall not be more than six (6) feet <br />in height. No lot or parcel abutting Interstate 271 <br />shall have more than one (1) sign visible from said <br />Interstate under this subsection. <br />(ii) Directional Signs. Two (2) directional signs <br />permanent construction not exceeding eight (8) feet in <br />height above natural grade indicating traffic routes <br />within parking areas or driveways shall be permitted <br />at any entrance/exit to any building or lot. Horizontal <br />directional signs on and flush with paved areas are <br />exempt from these standards. <br />(iii) Directory Signs. One (1) directory sign not <br />to exceed thirty two (32) square feet in area and six <br />(6) feet in height. <br />(iv) Ground Signs. One ground sign not exceeding <br />six (6) feet in height above natural grade shall be <br />permitted. Such ground sign shall be not less than <br />thirty (30) feet from the right-of-way line. Such <br />sign shall be located on the same lot as the business <br />or service to which it directs attention. Supporting <br />columns and structural trim of round or square shaped <br />configurations may be used, but in the event the <br />cross sectional area of such supports or trim exceeds <br />twenty five (25) percent of the sign face area, <br />the sign face area shall be reduced in size by the <br />amount of the excess. The ground sign may also be <br />used f or the same purpose as a nameplate sign. <br />Such sign shall be installed or erected perpendicular <br />to the roadway on which the lot fronts. <br />(v) Iaentification Signs. One identification sign <br />not to exceed thirty two (32) square feet in area anc] <br />six (6) feet in height. <br />(vi) Nameplates. One nameplate may be used as <br />a directory sign for tenants of the building provided <br />that such sign shall not exceed six (6) feet in <br />height. Such sign shall be not less than thirty (30) <br />feet from the right of way line.. <br />(vii) Real Estate Signs. One temporary double face
