ORDINANCE N0. 85-16 <br />Page -22- <br />free standing or wall sign advertising the sale, lease <br />or rental of the premises or part of the premises on <br />which the sign is displayed, not exceeding six (6) <br />feet in height above natural grade or twenty four (24) <br />square feet in area, shall be permitted. <br />(viii) Security Signs. Security signs may only be of <br />a type which is readily affixed to a window such as <br />as sticker or decal ana may be no more than fif teen <br />(15) square inches in area. <br />(ix) Wall Signs. Wall signs shall be permitted <br />subject to the requirements herein. Such signs shall <br />be attached to the front wall of the building and set <br />back from the end of the building and party wall lines <br />for a distance of at least three (3) feet and shall not <br />project beyond any corner or above the coping or eaves <br />of any building. The content of such sign shall be <br />limited to the name of the building itself or to the <br />name of the tenant of the.building if the building <br />is occupied by a sole tenant. All of the other require- <br />ments for a wall sign in Section 1185.15 shall be <br />applicable to this Section. <br />(x) Gasoline Service Stations. Signs for gasoline <br />service stations shall conform with all regulations of <br />this Chapter except for those which directly conflict <br />with the regulations stated below. <br />(a) Ground Sign. Such signs may display only <br />sign panels which (1) identify the company name, <br />(2) identify the station ownership or management, <br />and/or advertise the price of fuel by type, grade <br />or form of service. The sign panels indicating <br />the price of fuel shall not exceed sixty (60) percent <br />of the total of any sign face area, and the numerals <br />and letters on such signs shall not exceed two feet <br />in height. No ground sign shall be located closer <br />than thirty (30) f eet to the right-of-way line. <br />(b) Signs at Fuel Pumps/Service Islands. These <br />signs shall be limited to those which display inf or- <br />mation regarding type of service provided or other <br />inf ormation regarding type of service provided or <br />other information essential in directing or <br />instructing the motorist who has entered the station <br />area. The number, area, and height of such signs <br />shall be as determined by the Architectural Board <br />of Review. <br />(c) Canopies. For canopy structures which shelter <br />service islands, no signs shall be displayed on the <br />canopy fascia area. Furthermore, the canopy fascia
