MAYFIELD VIL]LAGE
6621 Wilaon Mills Road Mayfield Village, Ohio 44143
Administration
(216) 461-2210
FRED N. CARMEN
Mayar
Mr. Edward H. Richard, Director
Cleveland Department of Public Utilities
1201 Lakeside Avenue
Cleveland, Ohio 44113
Dear Director Richard:
It is my understanding that the City of Cleveland retains the total
amount of $21,547.25 in an escrow account for the benefit of sixty-six (66)
property owners in the Worton Park-Woodlane-Norman Drive area of Mayfield
Village. The funds were collected from the property owners in the form of
a special sewer charge pursuant to a 1961 contract between the City of
Cleveland and the property owners. Under this Agreement, the funds were to
be retained until such time as sanitary sewers were installed for the benefit
of the property owners and, then, the funds would be applied to the
construction project.
At this time, the Village of Mayfield is willing to accept full
responsibility for the funds for the benefit of the sixty-six property
owners and the Village of Mayfield agrees to assume all of Cleveland's rights
and obligations under the 1961 agreement. I therefore request that the full
amount of the funds held by Cleveland in the escrow account be transferred to
the Village of Mayfield.
Very truly z 1? • yo rs,
Fred N. Carmen
Mayor FNC/djh

Enclosure: Ordinance 85-19
4
