ORDINANCE N0. 85-25 (AS AMENDED) <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE ENACTING SECTION 131.05 OF <br />THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, CREATING THE POSITION OF <br />HUMAN SERVICES DIRECTOR, ESTABLISHING <br />THE QUALIFICATIONS, COMPENSATIONS AND <br />DUTIES THEREFOR AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, there has been a dramatic increase in the array of <br />municipal services available to residents of Mayfield Village over the <br />past several years; and <br />WHEREAS, the increase in such services is c3erived from many <br />financial sources, including local, state and federal; and <br />WHEREAS, the task of coordinating the available grants and <br />other funding to.maintain the available array of services has become <br />too time consuming for the current employees of the Administrative <br />Department of the municipality; now, theref ore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. There is hereby enacted Section 131.05 of the <br />Coc3ified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, Ohio, which shall read as <br />follows: <br />131.05 Human Services Director. <br />(a) Commencing with the effective date of this Ordinance, <br />there is hereby established the position of Human Services <br />Director in Mayfield Village, Ohio. <br />(b) The Human Services Director shall be appointed by the <br />Mayor subject to the concurrence of a majority of the members <br />elected to Council. The Human Services Director shall be a <br />resident of Mayfield Village not holding other elected office. <br />The Human Services Director first appointed unaer this Secti.on <br />shall serve until December 31, 1986 and thereafter a Human <br />Services Director shall be appointed in January of each year <br />to serve through December, 31st of the year of appointment. In <br />the event the duly appointed Human Services Director is unable, <br />for any reason, to complete the term of office, the Mayor shall <br />appoint a successor in the same manner required for oriqinal <br />appointment, such successor to complete the annual term with <br />the compensation for the position to be apportioned on a pro <br />rata basis. <br />(c) The Human Services Director shall be compensated at <br />the rate of Five Dollars and Fifty Cents ($5.50) per hour <br />provided, however, that the compensation shall not exceed <br />fifteen (15) hours per week.
