ORDINANCE NO. 86-3 <br />Page -2- <br />(Deleted material appears like t~~s and new material appears <br />like THIS) <br />Chapter 1173 <br />Motorist Service Office-Laboratory and <br />Production-Distribution Districts <br />1173.09 Sign Regulations <br />All signs in the districts established under this Chapter <br />shall be designed, erected, altered, reconstructed, moved or <br />maintained in accordance with the regulations set forth <br />as follows: <br />* ~ ~r <br />(h) Illumination of Signs. Light sources to illuminate <br />signs shall be reflected and shielded, except neon tubing <br />may be exposed and it shall not be of such brightness so as <br />to cause glare hazardous to pedestrians or auto drivers or <br />so as to cause reasonable objection from adjacent residential <br />districts. Advertising devices which attempt or appear to <br />attempt to direct the movement of traffic or which interfere <br />with, imitate or resemble any official sign, signal or <br />device shall be prohibited. Signs which include flashing, <br />moving or intermittent illumination shall not be permitted <br />by right. However, the Planning & Zoning Commission may <br />make a finding and permit such illumination under certain <br />conditions. IN OFFICE-LABORATORY AND PRODUCTION-DISTRIBUTION <br />DISTRICTS ALL ILLUMINATED SIGNS SHALL BE TURNED OFF NO <br />LATER THAN 7:00 P.M. EACH EVENING. IN MOTOR-SERVICE DISTRICTS <br />ALL ILLUMINATED SIGNS SHALL BE TURNED OFF WHEN THE PREMISES <br />IS CLOSED FOR BUSINESS. <br />Section 3. All prior ordinances inconsistent with this <br />ordinance in whole or in part. are repealed to the extent necessary to <br />avoid conflict with this ordinance. <br />Section 4. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements .including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
