*Failed 7/18/88 <br />ORDINANCE N0. 87- 29 <br />INTRODUCED BYe Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE ENACTING SECTIONS 549.11 THROUGH <br />549.16 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF NIAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, PERTAINING TO THE SALE OF FIREARMS, <br />AIR GiJNS, B-B GUNS OR SIMILAR WEAPONS WITHIN THE <br />[+'iUNICIPALITY, REPEALING ALL ORDINAfdCES INCONSIS- <br />TENT HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCYo <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Sections 549.11 through 549.16 of the Codified <br />Ordinances of Mayfield Village, Ohio are hereby enacted to read as <br />follows o <br />Chapter 549 <br />Weapons and Explosives <br /> <br />549.11 Sales; Licenses and Permits Required. <br />(a) No person shall sell, offer to sell, exhibit for <br />sale or engage in the business of selling firearms, air guns, <br />B-B guns or similar weapons, ammunition or explosives without <br />first obtaining a license to do so from the Chief of Police. No <br />person shall sell any such weapon, ammunition or explosive, which <br />is concealable on the person, to any person within the Village <br />who has not obtained a permit from the Chief of Police to <br />purchase such weapon, ammunition or explosive. <br />(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misuemeanor <br />of the first degreeo Punishment shall be as provided in Section <br />501.99. <br />549.12 License Application; Fee; Effective Periodp Renewals. <br />Any person desiring a license authorizing the sale of any of <br />the weapons or other articles mentioned in Section 549.11 shall <br />make application therefor, in writing, to the Chief of Police, <br />upon forms supplied by him or her, setting forth the full name <br />and residence address of the applicant, if an individual, and if <br />a firm or corporation, the full name and residence address of <br />each of its members or officers and any person owning ten percent <br />or more of the outstanding capital stock, and further setting <br />forth the location at which it is intended or aesired to conduct <br />such business. Such application shall be accompanied by a fee of <br />one hundred dollars ($100.00) payable in cash or certified check. <br />Any such license shall be valid for a period of twelve months <br />from the date of issuancem <br />Application f or the renewal of such licenses shall be made <br />on similar forms and be accompanied with a like fee and shall be
