ORDINANCE N0. 87-29 <br />Page -2- <br />filed with the Chief of Police at least five days prior to the <br />expiration date of the previous license. <br />549.13 Permit Application; Fee; Disposition. <br />(a) No person shall purchase a particular weapon or other <br />article specified in Section 549.11, which is concealable on the <br />person, without first obtaining a permit to do so. Before any <br />such permit is granted, an application therefor, in writing, <br />shall be made to the Chief of Police, on forms supplied by him or <br />her, setting forth the name, residence address, age, height, <br />weight and other pertinent information for identification of the <br />person desiring such permit, including fingerprints if requested <br />by the Chief of Police. Such application shall be accompanied by <br />a fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) and upon issuance such a permit <br />shall be valid for the purchase of one particular weapon therein <br />described. Such permit shall be given to and collected by the <br />seller and filed with the Village in the seller°s report of sales <br />of such weapons and other articles. <br />(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor <br />of the first degreeo Punishment shall be as provided in Section <br />501.99. <br />549.14 License or Permit Refusal. <br />The Chief of Police shall refuse a license to engage in the <br />business of selling, or a permit to purchase, any weapon or other <br />article mentioned in Section 549.11 to any person who has been <br />convicted of any crime other than a traffic offense, to any <br />vagrant, to any suspicious person, to any minor under the age of <br />eighteen years or to any person who has violated a provision of <br />this chapter during the preceding y ear. <br />549.15 Display for Sale. <br />(a) No person shall display any firearm, knife or other <br />weapon, ammunition, explosive or fireworks in any window or <br />display winaow. <br />(b) No person shall display for sale any firearm, knife or <br />other weapon or ammunition, except as followso <br />(1) Auctioneers, antique dealerso hobbyists and <br />collectors shall display such articles for sale <br />in locked cases or in locked display cabinets <br />of a type approved for such purpose by the Chief <br />of Police. <br />(2) All other persons shall display such articles <br />for sale, during regular business hours, in locked <br />display cabinets or in lockecl drawers of a type <br />approved for such purpose by the Chief of Police. <br />(3) All persons regularly engaged in the business of <br />selling such articles shall, at the close of each <br />business day, store such articles in a locked metal
