The Cuyahoga County Uepartment of Human Services, Social Services will commence its investigation of any emergency referral within one hour of its receipt. A social worker will evaluate, from discussions with the parents, the child(ren), and/or others, what action needs to be taken fur the children's protection. 5. When removal of the child(renj from the care and control of his/her parent(s) or guardian(s) appears necessary, the Cuyahoga County Uepartment of Huntan Services, Social Services social worker will seek temporary custody through the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court and will make such plans as are necessary for the protection of the child(ren). o. Where necessary, the authority granted by the Uhio Revised Code 2151.421 to a peace officer to cause immediate removal of a child snail be exercised by the officer. 7. 'The Cuyahoga County Uepartment of Human Services, Social Services social worker shall attain emergency custody from the Juvenile Court where warranted. 3. When agreed upon as necessary, the peace officers will meet the social worker at the child(ren)'s residence to effect removal of the child when a parent(s) refuses to relinquish an endangered child for whom the agency holds emergency custody. NUN-t;MEdGENCY SITUATION ., Uefinition: "Non-emergency situations" are all those situations not included in the definition of "emergency situations" on page 1 above. 1. Cases of suspected child abuse and/or neglect not considered to be an emergency shall be reported by telephone to the Intake Department of Cuyahoga County Department of Human Services, Social Services at 4si-4500 and followed by a written report of the officers sub;nitted to Cuyahoga County Department of Human Services, Social Services, 3355 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. 2. The Cuyahoga County Department of Human Services, Social Services shall commence its investigation of a non-emergency referral within twenty-four hours and shall provide or make available to the family any service(s) needed to ameliorate conditions which may be resulting in neglect and/or abuse of the child(ren). ~. 'The Cuyahoga County Uepartment of l{uman Services, Social Services shall proceed with tiie normal course of its duties when neglect or abuse is found to be of such a degree as to requite removal oP the child(ren) from the home, whether such removal is by parental consent or by action initiated by parental consent or by action initiated by Cuyahoga County Uepartment of Human Services, Social Services in the Juvenile Court.
