ORDINANCE N0. 88- 24. <br />INTRODUCED BY: MAYOR CARMEN AND COUNCIL AS A WHOLE. <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />ENACTING CHAPTER 1385 OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />PERTH-~TNG TO GARAGE AND PUBLIC SALES <br />IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS AND <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Section 1385 of the Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio, is hereby enacted to read as follows: <br />CAAPTi~R 1385 <br />Garage and Public Sales <br />1385.01 PERMIT REQUIRED. <br />No person, being the owner or occupant or in control <br />or having the management of any residential parcel of real <br />property located within the Village, shall hold or conduct <br />or permit to be held or conducted upon such property the <br />sale of any household goods, equipment, utensils, appli- <br />ances, personal clothing or effects or other similar <br />personal property unless a permit has been granted <br />therefor and the sale is conducted in accordance with <br />the provisions of this Chapter. A permit shall be <br />required where six (6) items or less are offered for <br />sale. <br />1385.02 PERMIT APPLICATION AND ISSUANCE. <br />(a) The Building Commissioner/Service Director shall <br />provide applications for permits for garage and public <br />sales. Such an application shall include the name of the <br />applicant, who shall be a resident of the Village, his <br />address, telephone number, the nature of the merchandise <br />to be offered for sale, the date of the sale and the hours <br />and duration of the sale. <br />(b) The applicant shall apply for such permit <br />ten (10) days before the date of the sale. The Building <br />Commissioner/Service Director may issue such permit seven <br />(7) days before such sale. <br />(c) A permit for each sale shall be valid for three <br />(3) consecutive days. Not more than one (1) permit shall <br />be issued in any twelve (12) month period, per residence, <br />unless there has been a bona fide sale of the residence. <br />
