The questions to appear on the ballot are as follows: <br />(5K) SHALL ORDINANCE N0. 89-3, INCREASING COUNCIL SALARY FROM THREE <br />THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS ($3,600) TO FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS <br />($4,500) BEGINNING 01/01/90 AND PROVIDING FOR THREE (3) INCREASES OF SIX <br />HUNDRED DOLLARS ($600.00) EACH YEAR FOR THREE (3) YEARS EFFECTIVE 01/01/91 <br />THROUGH 01/01/93, BE ADOPTED? <br />(5L) SHALL ORDINANCE N0. 89-5, INCREASING THE MAYOR'S SALARY FROM TEN <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS ($10,000.00) TO TEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS <br />($10,900.00), BEGINNING 01/01/90 AND PROVIDING FOR THREE (3) INCREASES OF <br />SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS ($600.00) EACH YEAR FOR THREE (3) YEARS EFFECTIVE <br />01/01/91 THROUGH 01/01/93, BE ADOPTED? <br />The Village Charter requires that any increase of salary for the Mayor and <br />Council must be ratified by the electorate. At~the present time, the <br />Mayor's salary is $10,000 and Council's is $3,600. If such issues are <br />approved, there would be a $900 increase beginning in 1990 and three (3) <br />increases of $600 each year thereafter beginning in 1991. <br />The Village urges all residents. to take the time to acquaint themselves <br />with all the issues. One can only make an intelligent vote if it is an <br />informed vote. Take the time to study the issues and VOTE ON MAY 2, 1989. <br />Mayor Fred N.
