M.V. ORDINANCE N0. 89- 2 Page -2- SECTION 1. Pursuant to Article X of the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, the Village Council proposes the following amendment to the Charter of the Village, said proposed amendment to be submitted to the electorate of the Municipality at their regularly scheduled Primary Election to be held on the second (2nd) day of May, 1989. The proposed amendment shall be designated by a ballot question number and shall be further designated by an individually lettered subheading. The proposed amendment and respective ballot question shall be as follows: A. Shall Article III, Section 8, Part (A) of the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, be amended by repealing, substituting and replacing the existing last sentence of Article III, Section 8, Part (A) so that it reads as followse SECTIOPI 8. COUNCIL MEETINGS. (A) The Council shall hold at least one regular meeting in each calendar month. A majority of the members of the Council shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business at any meeting of the Council, but a lesser number may adjourn the meeting from time to time. At any meeting at which a quorum is present, any ordi- nance or resolution may be passed or adopted, or any other action may be taken, by the affirmative vote of a majority of inembers of the Council unless a larger number be required by the provisions of this Charter. The Clerk of Council shall keep a record of its proceedings in a journal in which the yea or nay vote of each Councilman voting on every ordinance or resolution, and the action of Council on other measures, shall be recorded. The Council's journal shall be available for public inspection at all reasonable times. All meetings of the Council shall be open to the public unless an executive session is called pursuant to the Ohio Revised Code. The question to appear on the ballot shall be as follows: A.
