Commencing with the second (2nd) year of employment, as defined in <br />Subsections D(1) and (2) hereinbelow, and continuing each year <br />thereafter, each full-time employee of the Police Department having <br />arrest powers and all full-time employees of the Fire Department shall <br />receive a uniform allowance in the amount of Four Hundred Dollars <br />($400.00) per year and each full-time employee of the Police Depart- <br />ment not having arrest powers shall receive a uniform allowance in the <br />amount of Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00). The amounts stated <br />for uniform allowance herein may also be used for uniform maintenance <br />by the employee. <br />4. Each newly appointed Auxiliary Police Officer shall receive an <br />allowance in an amount not to exceed the sum of Six Hundred Dollars <br />($600.00) for the purpose of items necessary to equip such officer. <br />The chief of Police will issue a purchase order as required. The <br />Municipality shall purchase for each newly appointed part-time police <br />officer all items listed on Schedule B attached hereto. In the event <br />that such officer is employed as a full-time police officer for <br />another municipality, or has previously served as a Mayfield Village <br />Auxiliary Police Office, and by reason thereof, has already had pur- <br />chased for him any of the items appearing on Schedule B, and such <br />items are fit for use in Mayfield Village, then the Village will not <br />purchase such items for the officer and he shall not be entitled to <br />- receive the cash equivalent of any such item. <br />5. Each part-time firefighter shall receive an allowance for uniform <br />maintenance in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Fifty Dollars <br />($250.00) provided such part-time firefighter attends at least twenty <br />(20) drills annually. Any part-time firefighter who does not attend <br />at least twenty (20) drills during the year forfeits any right to <br />uniform allowance for the next calendar year. <br />6. The Finance Director is hereby authorized to reimburse all members of <br />the Police and Fire Departments for expenditures made in accordance <br />with Subsections B(2), (3), (4) and (5) hereinabove, provided, how- <br />ever, that receipted bills evidencing the purchase are submitted <br />together with an approval for payment by the respective Chiefs of <br />the Departments. The Finance Director is further authorized to make <br />such distributions in January for the expenditures made in the prior <br />calendar year. 11 <br />7. Whenever a uniform item is damaged or destroyed in the line of duty <br />then that item shall be replaced out of the uniform allowance. How- <br />ever, should any employee's maintenance and replacement costs in any <br />year exceed the uniform allowance for that year, upon presentation of <br />receipts evidencing such excess costs, and subject to the recommen- <br />dation of the appropriate Chief or department head, the employee may
