"Unicycle" means a one-wheeled vehicle <br />which is solely human powered. <br />AS USED IN THIS CHAPTER: "BICYCLE TRAIL" MEANS A SEPARATE TRAIL FROM <br />WHICH MOTOR VEHICLES ARE PROHIBITED AND WHICH IS USED FOR THE SHARED USE OF <br />BICYCLES AND PEDESTRIANS. SUCH TRAILS SHALL BE DESIGNATED AND REGULATED BY <br />THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE OHIO MANUAL OF UNIFORM TRAFFIC <br />CONTROL DEVISES. <br />373.04 LICENSE REQUIRED; REGISTRATIONo <br />(a) No person who resides within the Municipality shall ride or propel a <br />bicycle, adult tricycle or unicycle upon any side walk, street, highway, <br />boulevard, public place or 1"xb-14-e-?t-h BICYCLE TRAIL set aside for the <br />exCiusive use of bicycles, adult tricycles or unicycles.unless such bicycle. <br />tricycle or unicycle has been licensed by the Police Department or other <br />designated official for such purpose, and the license is attached thereto on <br />the frame of the bicycle, adult tricycle or unicycle for which it was issued. <br />373.07 SAFE RIDING REGULATIONS. <br />(a) Any person operating a bicycle, adult tricycle or unicycle shall <br />obey the instructions of official traffic-control signals, signs and other <br />control devices applicable to vehicles, unless otherwise directed by a police <br />officer. <br />(b) Persons riding bicycles, tricycles or unicycles upon a street shall <br />ride in single file only and not abreast except on 13a-t4s TRAILS or parts of <br />streets set aside for the ??eitt_,-?i-ve use of bicycles, tricycles or unicycles. <br />(c) Wherever a designated usable pat-h TR.AIL for bicycles, tricycles or <br />unicycles has been provided adjacent to a street, bicycle, tricycle or <br />unicycle riders shall use such Vi-t-h TRAIL and shall not use the street. <br />(d) No person shall ride a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle upon a sidewalk <br />upon or along which signs have been erected by authority of the Mayor <br />prohibiting such bicycle, tricycle or unicycle riding. <br />(e) Whenever a person is riding a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle upon a <br />sidewalk, BICYCLE TRAIL or street, such a person shall yield the right of way <br />to any pedestrian and shall give an audible signal before attempting to <br />overtake and pass a pedestrian or another bicycle, tricycle or unicycle. This <br />audible signal must be given only by a bell or other warning device capable of <br />giving an audible signal and shall be given at such a distance and in such a <br />manner as not to startle the person or persons being overtaken and passed. <br />(f) Whenever a person is riding a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle upon a <br />sidewalk, the person before overtaking and passing a blind person carrying a <br />white cane shall dismount and overtake on foot.
