ORDINANCE N0. 76- - 3 - -Section 2. Thc Mayor and Finance Director are authorized to ; enter into a personal service contract for special telephone answering service. The total amount of expenditure for this service shall not exceed $432.00 per month. The personal service contract shall be re- newable automatically from month-to-month unless terminated by not less than 30 days notice in writing by either party to the other, All notice: sent pursuant to this section shall be by U.S. Mail, certified, return receipt requested. Section 3. Uniform Allowance and Maintenance. (a) Eacli newly employed male member of the Police Department shall be reimbursed for the cost of uniforms purchased by him for use in his employment in an amount not exceeding $400.00. Each newly employed female member of the Police Department shall be reimbursed for the cost of uniforms purchased by her for use in her employment in an amount not exceeding $300.00. (b) Annually, thereafter each male member of the Police Depart• ment shall be reimbursed for uniforms purchased in an amount not to exceed $300.00 per year; each female member shall be reimbursed for uniforms purchased in an amount not to exceed $250.00 per year. The uniform allowance may also be used for uniform maintenance. (c) The Finance Director is hereby authorized to reimburse all members of the Police Department for expenditures made in accordance witl Section 3(a) and (b) provided, however, that receipted bills evidencing the purchases are submitted together with an approval for payment by the Chief of Police. The Finance Director is further authorized to make suc; distributions during January and July of each year for the prior six-mon period. (d) Subparagraph (c) of'this Ordinance shall be effective July 1, 1978. (e) Each police officer, excluding the Chief of Police, shall Ue compensated in addition to the salary schedule set forth in Section 1 for attendance required in Court if such appearance occurs while the police officer is not on duty. The police officer under these circum- stances shall be paid the equivalent of two hours additional compensatio computed at the officer's regular hourly rate provided in Section 1. (f) Each full-time member of the Service Department shall be reimbursed for work clothing purchased in an amount not to exceed $125.0 per year. The Pinance Director is authorized to make such distributions during January of each year. Receipted bills evidencing the purchases will be submitted to the Building Commissioner for his approval and then on to the Finance Director for payment.
