ORDINANCE NO. 78-47 <br />BY: <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF CONTINENTAL <br />CUSTOM BRIDGE C0. TO INSTALL THE BEECH HILL <br />FOOT BRIDGE AT AN APPROXIMATE COST OF $4,600. <br />WHEREAS, bids have been advertised and accepted pursuant <br />to law for a foot bridge to the Beech Hill project; and <br />WAEREAS, all bids are unacceptably high; and <br />WHEREAS, on a negotiated basis, the administrative assistant <br />to the Mayor, Gus Amendola, has been able to negotiate a price of <br />approximately $4,600 for a bid close in design to that which was <br />advertised, amendable according to the term of such specification, it <br />being the obligation of the Village under such specification to provide <br />the crane necessary to install the bridge and to supply concrete <br />footers; now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section l. The Mayor is authorized, empowered and directed <br />to enter into a negotiated contract with Continental Custom Bridge Co. <br />or any other bridge company with a price not more than 20% higher than <br />that of Continental Custom Bridge Co., for the installation of a steel <br />bridge as set forth in the specifications previously advertised, it <br />beinq specifically understood that the municipality will undertake to <br />provide a crane for the installation of the bridge and concrete footers. <br />Section 2. All bids on this project are specifically re- <br />jectad and the Clerk is directed to return all bid bonds and certified <br />checks. <br />Section 3.
