ORDINANCE N0, 78_¢7 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mrs. Hanus <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDTNANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF <br />CONTINENTAL CUSTOM BRIDGE COMPANY TO INSTALL <br />THE BEECH HILL FOOT BRTDGE AT AN APPROXIMATE <br />COST OF $4,600.00 <br />WHEREAS, bids have been advertised and accepted pursuant <br />to law for a foot bridge to the Beech Hill Project, and <br />WHEREAS, all b3ds are unacceptably high, and <br />WHEREAS, on a negotiated basis the Administrative Assistant <br />to the Mayor, Gus Amendola, has been able to negotiate a price of <br />approximately $4,600 for a bid close in des3gn to that which was <br />advertised and according to the terms of such specifications it <br />being the obligation of the Village under such specifications to <br />provide the crane necessary to install the bridge and to supply <br />concrete footers, now, therefore, <br />BE TT ORDATNIIDIBY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor is authorized, empowered and directed <br />to enter into a negotiated contract with Continental Custom Bridge <br />Company or any other br3dge company with a price not more than <br />20 percent higher than that of Continental Custom Bridge Company for <br />installation of a steel bridge as set forth in the specifications <br />previously advertised, it being specifscally understood that the <br />municipality will undertake to provide a crane for installation of <br />the bridge and concrete footers. <br />Section 2. All Hids on this project are specifically <br />rejected and the Clerk is directed to return all bid bonds and <br />certified checks. <br />Sect3on 3. This ss an emergency ord3nance immediately <br />necessary £or the health, safety and welfare of the community in that <br />no safe bri:dge currently exists at this location. It shall therefore <br />take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not <br />less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the <br />Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law. <br />President of Council <br />PASSED: October 16, 1978 <br />ATTEST: <br />APPROVE <br />APPROj7ED AS TO FORM: <br />Guerin L.
