ORDINANCE N0, 78_¢7 INTRODUCED BY: Mrs. Hanus AN EMERGENCY ORDTNANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF CONTINENTAL CUSTOM BRIDGE COMPANY TO INSTALL THE BEECH HILL FOOT BRTDGE AT AN APPROXIMATE COST OF $4,600.00 WHEREAS, bids have been advertised and accepted pursuant to law for a foot bridge to the Beech Hill Project, and WHEREAS, all b3ds are unacceptably high, and WHEREAS, on a negotiated basis the Administrative Assistant to the Mayor, Gus Amendola, has been able to negotiate a price of approximately $4,600 for a bid close in des3gn to that which was advertised and according to the terms of such specifications it being the obligation of the Village under such specifications to provide the crane necessary to install the bridge and to supply concrete footers, now, therefore, BE TT ORDATNIIDIBY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. The Mayor is authorized, empowered and directed to enter into a negotiated contract with Continental Custom Bridge Company or any other br3dge company with a price not more than 20 percent higher than that of Continental Custom Bridge Company for installation of a steel bridge as set forth in the specifications previously advertised, it being specifscally understood that the municipality will undertake to provide a crane for installation of the bridge and concrete footers. Section 2. All Hids on this project are specifically rejected and the Clerk is directed to return all bid bonds and certified checks. Sect3on 3. This ss an emergency ord3nance immediately necessary £or the health, safety and welfare of the community in that no safe bri:dge currently exists at this location. It shall therefore take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law.
