the development area which exceeds fifteen (15) tons per acre the <br />first year commencing from the time of initial earth disturbance <br />and five (5) tons per acre for any other year. <br />, <br />The above standard can be met by using one of the following procedures: <br />1. Planning and applying a level of control such that the <br />predicted average annual soil loss, accumulative monthly, as <br />determined in accordance with the procedure in the current U.S. <br />Soil Conservation Service Handbook, "Water Management and <br />Sediment Control for Urbanizing Areas," meets the said standards. <br />2. Using sediment basins sized in accordance with the <br />current U.S. Soil Conservation Service Handbook, "Water Management <br />and Sediment Control for Urbanizing Areas." <br />3. Using other methods including but not limited to a <br />combination of 1 and 2 provided they are acceptable to the <br />approving aqency. <br />B. To control sediment pollution caused by accelerated <br />erosion in drainage ways and grassed waterways, and in ditches <br />and streams to be altered by the development, use one o£ the <br />following procedures: <br />1. Managing water runoff so that the velocity of flow <br />does not exceed the permissible velocities listed in the current <br />U.S. Soil Conservation Service Handbook, "Water Management and <br />Sediment Control for Urbanizing Areas." <br />2. Using sediment basins sized in accordance with the <br />current U.S. Soil Conservation Service Handbook, "Water Management <br />and Sediment Control for Urbanizing Areas." <br />3. Using other methods includinq but not limited to a <br />combination of 1 and 2 provided they are acceptable to the <br />approving agency. <br />C. To control <br />or dumping of earth <br />shall not, without <br />into public waters, <br />in such position by <br />that it may readily <br />D. To control sediment pollution from accelerated channel <br />erosion and increased flooding caused by accelerated runoff from <br />a development area: <br />1. The latest accepted County standards for drainage <br />shall be used <br />2. Other procedures may be used to control accelerated <br />channel erosion provided they are acceptable to the approving <br />agency, <br />sediment pollution caused by sloughing, sliding, <br />material into public waters; earth material <br />spproval of the approving agency, be placed <br />or in such proximity or caused to be left <br />dumping, grading, piling, or other construction <br />slide or slough into public waters. <br />-5-
