ORDINANCE NO. 79-34 Page -3- <br />Assistant to Finance Director <br />Class A- 2nd year 11,022.00 5.30 <br />Class B- Probationary 9,450.00 4.54 <br />Clerk_of Council 1.00 -0- <br />The Mayor's Secretary and the Assistant to the Finance Director <br />shall be paid at one and one-half times their hourly wage for required <br />attendance at Council meetings or other meetings of the various boards <br />and commissions of the municipality <br />Part-time Clerk or Recording -0- 4.00 <br />Secretary <br />Section 2. The Mayor and Finance Director are authorized to enter <br />into a personal service contract £or special telephone answering <br />service. The total amount of expenditure for this service shall <br />not exceed $475.00 per month. The personal service contract shall <br />be renewable automatically from month-to-month unless terminated by <br />not less than 30 days notice in writing by either party to the other. <br />All notices sent pursuant to this section shall be by U.S. mail, <br />certified, return receipt requested. <br />Section 3. Uniform Allowance and Maintenance. <br />(a) Each newly employed male member of the Police Department <br />shall be reimbursed for the cost of uniforms purchased by him for use <br />in his employment in an amount not exceeding $400.00. Each newly <br />employed female member of the Police Department shall be reimbursed <br />for the cost of uniforms purchased by her for use in her employment <br />in an amount not exceeding $300.00. <br />(b) Annually, thereafter each male member of the Police <br />Department shall be reimbursed for uniforms purchased in an amount <br />not to exceed $300.00 per year, each female member shall be reimbursed <br />for uniforms purchased in an amount not to exceed $250.00 per year. <br />The uniform allowance may also be used for uniform maintenance. <br />(c) The Finance Director is hereby authorized to reimburse all <br />members of the Police Department for expenditures made in accordance <br />with Section 3(a) and (b) provided, however, that receipted bills <br />evidencinq the purchases are submitted together with an approval for <br />payment by the Chie£ of Police. The Finance Director is £urther <br />authorized to make such distributions during January and July of each <br />year for the prior six-month period. <br />(d) Subparagraph (c) of this Ordinance shall be effective <br />July l, 1979. <br />(e) Each police officer, excluding the Chief of Police, shall <br />be compensated in addition to the salary schedule set forth in Section <br />1 for attendance required in Court if such appearance occurs while the <br />police officer is not on duty. The police officer under these circum- <br />stances shall be paid the equivalent of two hours additional compensatior <br />computed at the officer's regular hourly "rate provided in Section l.
