-5- (1) Certificate of Approval. There shall be no additional fee for certificates of approval of plumbing, gas, piping, or electrical work performed under permit for such work. (m) License Fees. The annual fee for a plumber's license or sewer builder's license or such other building trades or occupations as may be placed under requirement of registration, licensing, or certification by the regulations of the Board of Building Code Appeals shall be 10.00 (n) Fee for Setting Grade. Whenever the Building Official is in doubt concerning the setting of the grade for any construction, he shall have the right to require the owner or appropriate permit holder to deposit the sum of $35.00 with the Clerk, which sum shall go into the general fund of the Village, and in such case to call upon the Village Engineer to set the grade, and the Village Engineer shall be paid the sum of $35.00 from the general fund of the Village for such services in each instance. (o) In addition to the permit and license fees specified in this ordinance, the following fees shall be charged to the holder of the permit covering the particular kind of work to be inspected for any additional inspec- tions made by the Building Official or any of his assistants, in order to secure compliance with the ordinances of the Village of Mayfield governing construction, alteration, additions to, demolition or removal of buildings and parts thereof: First additional inspection 10.00 Subsequent inspections 15.00 Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation obtaining a permit to construct a new building shall at the time of issuance thereof deposit with the Building Official the sum of $500 in case of a single or two-family dwelling house, or a com- mercial or industrial building, and $25.00 per dwelling unit (but not more than $500 per building) in case of an apartment building of any kind, which sum shall be paid into the Treasury of the Village. The amount of said cash deposit shall be returned by the Clerk to the permit holder when the building has been approved on final inspection. Provided, however, that if in the process of such construction any damage has been done by the permit holder or any of his contractors, sub-contractors, agents or employees, or others under his control, to the public highways or other public property or the property of other persons, the amount of such damage as cal- culated by the Building Official, together with any unpaid permit or inspection fees, shall be deducted from the amount of such deposit to be returned. Provided, however, that the insufficiency of such deposit to compensate for any such damage shall not relieve the permit holder or anyone else from liability for payment of any excess. Section 3.
