-3- <br />Section 8. Personal Cleanliness. <br />Every person shall cleanse himself thoroughly with soap and water immediately <br />before entering any swimming pool and shall use the shower baths provided in such way <br />that no soap or dirt shall be carried into such pools. <br />Section 9. Rentinq ClothinQ and Towels. <br />No bathing suit, dress, stockings, cap or other article of clothing or any <br />towel, cloth or bath brush which has been used by any person at any swimming pool, <br />public beach, plunge or pool for cleansing purposes shall be rented to, or permitted <br />to be used by any other person until after such article or articles shall have been <br />thoroughly cleaned in boiling water. <br />Section 10. Lifeguard. <br />No swimming pool, public bathing beach, plunge, or pool for cleansing purposes, <br />open to the public, shall be used unless there is present during all the time that <br />such swimming pool, public beach, plunge or pool for cleansing purposes is open for <br />use, at least one person skilled in swimming and diving and in administration of first <br />aid to persons overcome in water. <br />Section 11. Home Pools. <br />? The provisions of Sections 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of this ordinance shall not <br />apply in the case of a family swimming pool intended solely for persons of the <br />immediate family and non-paying guests and where such pool is maintained on the <br />premises of the home owner; and the provisions of this ordinance shall not apply to <br />a portable pool of plastic or rubber construction. <br />Section 12. Fencing. <br />All swimming pools shall be kept free from any nuisance of any nature. <br />The area shall be fenced in case of family swimming pools by a fence 4 feet in <br />height and in case of public and club swimming pools by a fence or enclosures not <br />less than 8 feet high, and the entrance to the fenced or enclosed area shall be <br />through a gate of the self-closing type, with an approved lock. All fence posts <br />shall be anchored securely in concrete. All such pools shall at all times be under <br />the supervision of an adult person. The fences shall be of the open or transparent <br />type and shall be approved by the Building Inspector as to safety and design, but <br />a fence need not be of the open or transparent type nor be required to have a gate <br />of the self-closing type, with an approved lock, if the only means of entrance and <br />access is to or from the dwelling house, but such fence must be in conformity with <br />the architectural design of the house. <br />A permit shall be obtained from the Building Inspector for the erection of <br />each such fence at a cost of $5.,00 plus an additional $10.00 for each 100 lineal <br />feet of fence or part thereof. <br />Section 13. Club and Public Pool Approval. <br />All club or public swimming pools shall be constructed according to plans <br />submitted to the Director of Health of the State of Ohio or the Cuyahoga County Board <br />of Health, as provided by law and all recirculating or filtering devices shall be <br />approved by the proper authority. <br />
