a <br />Ordinance No. 75-16 <br />Introduced by: Mr. Barclay <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 31.6 OF ORDINANCE <br />N0. 960, AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 159, TEIE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, AS AMENDED BY <br />ORDINANCE N0. 71-36, BY CHANGING THE REQUIREMENTS <br />FOR OFF-STREET PARKING, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 75-9 <br />WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Cominission has recoumiended that provision <br />be made for comprehensive rules and regulations for off-street parking and loading <br />faciliites, and <br />WHEREAS, notice of a public hearing on the aforesaid recommended zoning amend- <br />ment has been duly given and a full public hearing has been held thereon pursuant to <br />such notice as prescribed by law, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council deems that the aforesaid amendment of the zoning <br />ordinances should be made and that the same is conducive to the public health, sa£ety <br />and general welfare of the municipality; <br />NOW, THEREEORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Section 31.6 of Ordinance No. 960, entitled "Off-Street Parking <br />and Loading Regulations", as amended by Ordinance No. 71-36, is hereby amended to read <br />as follows: <br />Off-street parking and loading requirements and regulations are <br />established in order to achieve, among others, the following purposes: <br />Section 31.7. Intent <br />(a) To relieve congestion on streets, so that they can be utilized more <br />fully for movement of traffic; and <br />(b) To promote the safety and convenience of employees, guests and <br />shoppers by locating parking areas so as to lessen motor vehicle <br />movements in areas of congestion; and <br />(c) To promote the general convenience, welfare, and prosperity of <br />institutional, residential, retail business, and industrial developments, <br />which depend upon off-street parking and off-street loading facilities. <br />Section 31.8 Definitions and Standards <br />For the purpose of determining accessory off-street parking requirements, <br />definitions and standards shall be as follows: <br />(a) Accessory Parking Space - an open or enclosed area accessible from <br />a street for parking of motor vehicles of owners, occupants, employees, <br />
