- 7- <br />(b) Loading facilities shall not be located in a front yard or in a <br />required side or rear yard. Of£-Street loading spaces shall be pro- <br />vided with surface improvements as required for parking areas. Each <br />required off-street loading space shall be designed for direct vehicular <br />access by means of a driveway, or driveways, to a public street in a <br />manner which will least interfere with trafPic movements and lane <br />encroachment. The access shall be located so that the driveway center <br />line shall be not less than 100 feet from the nearest intersecting <br />street line. <br />(c) Schedule of Requirements <br />Loadin g spaces shall be provided in accordance with the following <br />schedule: <br />Gross Floor Area of Required Number of <br />Building or Use Building Spaces <br />Retail stores - all types 5,000 - 10,000 sq.ft. 1 <br />10,000 - 40,000 sq.ft. 2 <br />40,000 - 100,000 sq.ft. 3 <br />each add'1 50,000 sq.ft. 1 add'1 space <br />All manufacturing service <br />and storage establishments Up to 40,000 sq.ft. 1 <br />40,000 - 100,000 sq.ft. 2 <br />ea. add'1 50,000 sq.ft. 1 add'1 space <br />Section 31.16. Improvements to Parking and Loading Areas_ <br />All parking areas and driveways shall be surfaced with asphaltic concrete or <br />Portland cement concrete, or other similar hard surface as shall be approved <br />by Council and be as approved by the Village Engineer. <br />All parking areas and driveways shall provide adequate drainage so that all <br />water is contained within the lot on which the parking area or driveway is <br />located in such manner that water shall not drain across other private <br />or public property. <br />Portland Cement concrete or stone curbs at least six inches above the levels <br />of the surface of the parking area and at least twelve inches below the sur- <br />face shall be provided to define the limits of the parking area except at <br />exits and entrances. Such curbs shall be at least six inches thick. Curbs <br />shall be arranged so that no part of a parked vehicle shall project into that <br />portion of a required yard in which off-street parking is prohibited. <br />Planted islands shall be developed and distributed so as to interrupt the <br />expanse of paved area. Such islands shall have a minimum dimension of 10 ft. <br />The Conimission may require landscape features and a wall or a fence between <br />a parking or loading area and a side or rear lot line of a Residential District. <br />Parking spaces shall be defined by painted solid lines outlining the long sides <br />of the space. I <br />An approved barrier shall be provided to establish the limits o£ each parking <br />area on each lot.
