-6- <br />,• <br />No entrance or exit driveway shall be constructed or maintained so as to <br />lead to or from a local residential street abutting a local business <br />district. The words "local residential street" shall mean a street used <br />primarily for access to abutting residential properties. The angle of <br />intersection between the driveway and the street shall be between 70 degrees <br />and 90 degrees. <br />The developments abutting idilson Mills Road for a distance of 1200 feet from <br />the nearest intersection of a freeway ramp shall be planned so that the first <br />access street or driveway onto Wilson Mills shall be not less than 600 feet <br />from the outermost ramp terminal right-of-way and the successive access point <br />shall be spaced at intervals not less than 600 feet on center. These objec- <br />tives may be accomplished by marginal service roads, parallel service roads, <br />combining the access of several developments, or their approved facilities. <br />Whenever it is not feasible to provide such facilities at the time of the <br />original development, the Coffiission may grant temporary access for use at <br />lesser distancas for a limited period of time, provided the developments and <br />future control facilities are planned so as not to cause any substantial <br />extra costs to the public or cause relocations or structures when the per- <br />manent facilities are constructed. <br />To carry out the above purposes and objectives on sections of Wilson Mills <br />Road or other major streets within the area of influence but more than 1200 <br />feet from the interchange, the Commission may permit the spacing of access- <br />ways at lesser intervals but not less than 200 feet on center, if the projected <br />volume of traffic warrants more frequent spacing. <br />Section 31.15 Of£-Street Loading Facilities <br />Loading and/or unloading facilities shall be provided for all .business, ser- <br />vice, commercial and industrial buildings hereafter erected or altered for <br />such uses. The facilities shall be maintained as long as such building is <br />occupied,shall continue unobstructed and not be used for repair or servicing <br />of motor vehicles. Space required and allocated for off-street parking shall <br />not be allocated or used to satisfy the space requirements for off-street <br />loading. <br />(a) Space Required <br />A required off-street loading space shall be at least 12 feet wide by. <br />at least 25 feet in length for building,sless than 15,000 sq.ft. of gross <br />floor area, and each required loading space for a building of 15,000 sq. <br />ft. or more o£ floor area shall be not less than 14 feet wide by 60 ft. <br />iri length. Each space shall have a vertical clearance of at least 14 ft. <br />The above areas shall be exclusive of aisle and maneuvering space. <br />For manufacturing and service uses the maneuvering space or apron for <br />off-street loading shall be at least 60 feet wide measured from the <br />outermost part of any vehicle backed up to a loading dock or any other <br />possible obstruction in the maneuvering area. <br />Uses which otherwise require off-street loading facilities but are <br />located for buildings of less than 5,000 sqft o£ £loor area shall be <br />provided with a receiving platform or other facilities adjacent to d'?.. <br />service drive or other open space on the same lot. ?
