CONSTITUTION <br />ARTTC'T.E T <br />NAME AND PURPOSE <br />Sec. 1.1 This Organization shall be known as the Mayfield Village <br />Auxiliary Police Unit. <br />Sec. 1.2 The purpose shall be to encourage and promote greater <br />public interest in the police department and in law <br />enforcement to strive for the continuous advancement <br />of the public image of the Department of Police; to pro- <br />vide for the upkeep and maintenance of its equipment. <br />Sec. 1.3 This Association may promote dances or any legal raffles <br />and may engage in other legal activities to widen public <br />interest in law enforcement. <br />Sec. 1.4 The purpose of the Auxiliary Police Unit is to aid and <br />assist the regular Department of Police and Mayfield <br />Village in their services of protecting the public and <br />preserving order. <br />Sec. 1.5 In the event of enemy attack, the Auxiliary Police Unit <br />will be called upon to perform special Civil Defense <br />duties. <br />ARTICLE II <br />ORGANIZATION AND PERSONNEL <br />Sec. 2.1 <br />Sec. 2.2 <br />Sec. 2.3 <br />Sec. 2.4 <br />Members of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall be actively <br />interested in the promotion of the purposes of this <br />Association. <br />Members shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to <br />approval of the Police Chief and by a majority vote of <br />Council. <br />The Auxiliary Police Unit shall not exceed twelve members. <br />Every member of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall be <br />administered the oath of office as provided in the Charter <br />Article XII, Section 4. <br />Sec. 2.5 The members of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall serve with- <br />out compensation while performing duties for the Department <br />o£ Police or Recreation Board. The performance of a member <br />of the Auxiliary Police Unit while assigned said duties <br />shall be in accordance with the rules and regulations of <br />the Auxiliary Police Unit and any applicable rules and <br />regulations of the Department o£ Police.
