-z- <br />Sec. 2.6 Any member of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall be <br />entitled to compensation for services rendered for private <br />persons, firms of corporations (i.e. retail stores, comm- <br />ercial enterprises, churches, schools, residences and <br />contractors). The Chief of Police shall prepare a recom- <br />mended schedule of compensation which shall be submitted <br />to the Council of this municipality at the first regular <br />council meeting in January of each year for the considera- <br />tion and approval by Council. In the event the Chief of <br />Police does not submit a recommended schedule of compen- <br />sation in accordance with this Section, the last prevailing <br />recommendation approved by the Council will be deemed to <br />establish compensation for services rendered by members <br />of the Auxiliary Police Unit. <br />Sec. 2.7 The Chief of Police shall have the right to assign and <br />station all members of the Auxiliary Police Unit. <br />Sec. 2.8 An Auxiliary Policeman assigned to duty with any officer <br />o£ the police department shall be under the supervision <br />and control of said officer. <br />Sec. 2.9 The Chief of Police shall direct the activities of the <br />Auxiliary Police Unit and cause to be enforced all rules <br />and regulations of the Auxiliary Police Unit, subject to <br />approval of the Mayor. <br />Sec. 2.10 When any member of the Auxiliary Police Unit shows lack of <br />interest in his work, or fails to appear for meetings, <br />training periods, or duty when assigned, or re£uses to <br />accept assignments, or fails to comply with any rule or <br />regulation o£ the Auxiliary Police Unit, the Mayor may <br />dismiss the member with a majority vote of Council. <br />Sec. 2.11 Auxiliary Policemen may per£orm work or duty, by and with <br />the consent of the Chief of Police, and subject to his <br />direction and control, for stores, commercial enterprises, <br />churches, schools, contractors, on construction sites, or <br />privately for residents, and shall be paid by the owner <br />or person in charge of such store, commercial enterprise, <br />church, school, contractor, construction site, or private <br />resident. <br />There shall be a minimum charge o£ three (3) hours for any <br />work requested or performed. <br />ARTICLE III <br />FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES <br />Sec. 3.1 The Auxiliary Police Unit shall assist the Department of <br />Police of Mayfield Village with the following duties. At <br />no time are they to assume the responsibilities of any <br />duties unless they are under direct supervision of a <br />regular officer, or directed to do so by the Chief o£ <br />Police or officer designated by the Chief of Police.
