-3- <br />ARTICLE VI <br />PERFORMANCE AND CONDUCT <br />Sec. 6.1 The Chief of Police will promptly report any violation <br /> of the oath of office of any member of the Auxiliary <br /> Police Unit. <br />Sec. 6.2 Members of the Auxiliary Police Unit while on duty shall <br /> be neat, clean and maintain their uniform and equipment <br /> in proper repair. <br />Sec. 6.3 Every member of the Ruxiliary Police Unit shall, while <br /> on duty, conduct himself in a quiet, civil and orderly <br /> manner. He shall maintain decorum, be alert and discreet <br /> while in the performance of his duties. <br />Sec. 6.4 Members of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall at all times <br /> while on duty aid and cooperate with each other, as well as <br /> the members of the Department of Police in the performance <br /> of their duty. <br />Sec. 6.5 Members of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall at all times be <br /> courteous, render assistance and be responsive to the <br /> needs of citizens seeking aid, information or who may <br /> desire to enter a complaint or o£fer to give evidence in <br /> / <br />any matter. <br />Sec. 6.6 Members in addition to the foregoing shall: <br />a. Serve the public to the best of their ability, <br />efficiently and e£fectively. <br />b. Enforce all laws objectively and impartially within <br />the limitations of their authority. <br />c. Not use the authority of their office for personal <br />advantage. <br />d. Properly maintain, preserve and protect public property. <br />e. Not accept, directly or indirectly, gratuities from <br />any person, firm or corporation. <br />f. Cooperate, aid and assist other officials of the <br />municipality to preserve the peace, safety and general <br />welfare of the public. <br />g. Attempt to improve their knowledge of their office <br />by study. <br />h. Conduct themselves in private life in a manner that <br />will not rePlect upon them personally or cause <br />embarrassment to the Auxiliary Police Unit.
