Paqe 3 <br />Ordinance No. 7.3-25 <br />(i) Fire alarm and fire extinguishing equipment shall <br />conform to chapter BB-25-OBC and are required as follocas: <br />School buildings shall be equipped with a manual fire <br />alarm service as defined in Section BB-25-08-OBC, and a local alarm <br />service as defined in Section BB-25-09-OBC where conditions are as <br />follows: <br />(i) The building will contain more than one <br />room occupied by children. <br />(ii) The building will be more than one story <br />high or ~•~ill have a basement or cellar. <br />(iii) The arrangement of manual sending stations, <br />and the manner of their connections with sounding <br />devices shall be such that there will be no differences <br />between the sounding df actual alarms and drill signals. <br />(iv) Systems shall be so <br />intervention will be required, <br />of manual sending station, for <br />ponse of all required sounding <br />facilities be provided whereby <br />controlled or modified. <br />arranged that no manual <br />following the actuation <br />causing effective res- <br />devices nor shall <br />such response can be <br />(v) [4here auxiliary systems are used, such systems <br />shall be arranged so as to permit fire drills to be <br />conducted by those in authority without summoning the <br />Fire Department. <br />(vi) Standpipes conforming to Section BB-25-11- <br />OBC shall be installed in buildings more than one <br />story high and with basements or cellars. <br />(vii) A manual fire alarm service and a local <br />fire alarm system shall be installed in buildings not <br />sprinkler protected that have a hazardous process, <br />hazardous storage or accommodate 100 or more persons. <br />The alarm system shall be so installed to alert <br />employees attendants, and where requir-ed by the Fire <br />Department to notify the Fire Department. <br />(viii) P:11 buildings of such size that require <br />a sprinkler system, or the storage or process is <br />hazardous, shall have a roof ventilation of an approved <br />type, which may include plastic domes, light shafts or <br />glass enclosure, and of the type that will not endanger <br />firefighting operations or firefighters from falling or <br />exploding when released, by fusible links or other <br />approved means. <br />(ix) A11 ventilation systems shall be installed <br />in such a manner that smoke, poison and heated gasses <br />
