/p C Section 4. There is hereby created the position of Assistant to the Building Inspector and Service Director. The present occupant of that position shall continue to serve as such, but may be removed at any time by an affirmative vote of a majority of members elected to Council. Any vacancy shall be filled by appointment by the Playor, with the consent of the majority of the members elected to Council, and the person so appointed may be removed at any time by an affirmative vote of the majority of members elected to Council. The Assistant to the Building Inspector and Service Director, beginning as of April 1, 1968, shall be compensated at the rate of $6,000.00 per year, but such compensation may be changed at any time by Council. The Village shall also pay to Blue Cross of Northeast Ohio, Inc., the premiums for hospitaliza- tion and medical mutual insurance far the Assistant to the Building Inspector and Service Director. Section 5. The Building Inspector- and Service Director shall be paid the sum of $15.00 per month for the use of his private automobile in the performance-of his duties and shall be reimbursed for the cost of gasoline used for that purpose. Section 6. The Building Inspector and Service Director shall give bond in the amount of $ 51000.00 with sufficient surety to be approved by the Mayor. Section 7. The compensation of skilled laborers and other employees to assist the Service Director (except for the Clerk and the Assistant to the Building Inspector and Service Director) shall be at the rate of $2.00 per hour. Persons designated by the Building Inspector and Service Director as unskilled employees shall be compensated at the rate of ($_1.60 per hour. tJ u Section 8. Existing:Ordinances Numbers 921, 956, 992, 1037 and 1042 shall be repealed as of the effective date of this Ordinance. Section 9. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, -' safety and welfare of the Village of *iayfield and its-inhabitants, in order to obtain the maximum efficiency in the Service Department, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of its passage.
