~~~ b. of any use whenever a building is constructed or altered. 1, Standards and Design -Parking Facilities a. Off-street parking spaces, not less than the following facilities shall be provided whenever a new use is hereafter established, an existing building is altered which results in an increase in floor area of building, or whenever the use of an existing building ie changed. Motels: one space for each lodging unit plus ten additional spaces for each motel. Eating and Assembly Facilities: one space for each four seats, plus ten additional spaces for each facility. Office, Laboratories, Production and Distribution r.ataousnments: one space for .eacn i. a employees or one apace for every 500 square feet of building area, whichever provides the greater number of spaces. b. Location and Size I _ ~ The facilities shall be located on the same lot ae the main building or use served. Each parking space shall be not lees than 190 square feet, 9-1/2 feet x 20 feet,, exclusive of drives and turning spaces. Parking facilities shall be provided on the same lot as the main use served in industrialdistricta. Wherever the applica- tion of the standards as sit forth in Sec. 30. 6, subsection 1-a as to 14umber of employees", results in a lesser number of parking spaces than required by the application of said standard as to 'bquare feet of building'; the commission may permit the construc- tion of the leaver number of spaces; provided, however, the addi- tional area required to provide the number of spaces under the 'bquare feet of building" standard shall be reserved and held as open area along with all required yard areas, for future construction of parking spaces until the use of the building is changed to a classi- fication having a greater number of employees in relation to build- ing area. c. Surface Improvements All parking areas and driveways shall be graded and shall be surfaced with asphalt, concrete, or other similar hard surface as required by the regulations of the Village.
