Horizontal Alignment <br />U <br />' Properly designed curving residential streets are encouraged; <br />angles of horizontal alignment of the center lines of streets''shall. <br />be connected by a curve with a radius of not leas than 150 feet; <br />between reverse curves there shall be a center line tangent of not <br />less than 100 feet. <br />e. Cul-de-sac streets, or permanent dead-end streets shall be <br />permitted where parcels are surrounded by allotments, where irregular <br />topography would require excessive grading for continuous streets, or <br />where other types of non-through streets would not provide sufficient <br />discouragement of through traffic. <br />All cul-de-sac streets shall be terminated with a permanent <br />turn-around or equare.having a minimum curb radius of 50 feet and' a <br />~! street property line radius of 65 feet. Cul-de-sac streets shall <br />not exceed 500 feet in length unless an additional turn-around or <br />square is provided. If the cul-de-sac street does not open in the <br />direction of schools or playgrounds, a pedestrian-way may be required. <br />In addition, the Commission may require that the center .of the turn- <br />around be planted with permanent evergreens and ground cover, and <br />that the turn-around be designed to provide additional parking s~acea. <br />f. Temporary Dead-end Streets <br />Where a proposed subdivision adjoins undeveloped land, a <br />temporary "T" turn-around, may be provided for each street if not <br />more than 500 feet in length.
