ORDINANCE No. 937 By Mr. Shaw AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IIMPLOYMENT OF I,EGAI. COUNSEL FOR _THE VILI.AGE OF MAYFIELD _ [dHEREAS, Council deems it for the best interests of the Village to provide legal counsel for the same and for the officers thereof. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OL' THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, C[JYAHOGA COUNTY, _OHIO,, THAT: _ . _ , _ _ . ... - - - - - , - - - - ' - - Sec. 1. Arnold M. Edelman, Attorney at I,aw, be, and he hereby is, employed to act as legal counsel for said Village and the officers thereof in their official capacity, and as such to prosecute and defend all legal actions by or against said Village, or any department or officer thereof to which he may be assigned by Council or by the Mayor. Sec. 2. He shall prepare and submit to Council all resolutions and ordinances of whatsoever character or nature necessary for all public improve- ments and for the issuance of bonds dnd every purpose authorized by law, and he shall prepare all other resolutiotts and ordinances as are requested by this Council or any department o£ this Village. Sec. 3. He shall be appointed for a period of two years, from January 1, 1966, to December 31, 1967, both days inclusiy¢, and shall receive as compensatiori,the sum of $3300.00 per annum, payable in equal monthly installments, which compensation shall cover all general services rendered to the said Village as such legal counsel, with the exception of the following: (a) Such legal counsel shall be paid the additional sum at the rate of $150.00 per diem for time spettt on behalf of said Village or any.department or officer thereof in any trial or proceeding befor.e any court ( other than the Mayor's Court of the 4illage of Mayfield) or before any other public board or commissiott ( other than a board or commission of this Village) and at the rate of $20.00 per hour for time spent in preparation for any such trial or proceeding; (b) Such legal counsel shall be paid the additional sum of $250.00 ' for legal services rendered in connection with each general obligation bond issue of said Village. For each improvement to be financed by special assessments, such_legal counsel shall be ? paid an amount equal to 1-1/27a of the amount of the accepted bid, half at the time of the issuance of the special assessment note and half at the time of sale of the bonds, which shall be compen- sation for all legal services rendered in connection with the /?-
