Sec. 18. OTHER LEGAL ACTION <br />The-imposition of any penalty will not preclude the Village <br />frcm instituting an appropriate action or proceeding in a court <br />of proper jurisdiction to prevent unlawful constLUCtion, re- <br />construction, alteration, repair, conversion, maintenance, or <br />use; or to restrain, correct, or abate a violation, or to prevent <br />the occupancy o£ a dwelling or structure, or to prevent an illegal <br />act, conduct, business or use in or abont any dwelling or structure, <br />or to require compliance with provisions of this Chapter or other <br />applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations of the Village, <br />or the orders or determinations of the Building Inspector, <br />Architectyaal Board or Council. . <br />Sec. 19. COSTS <br />The total costs, whether such costs are incurred due to the use <br />of employees, materials, and equipment of the Village or by contract <br />for labor, materials, and equipment, or both, or removing insecure, <br />unsafe, or structurally defective dwellings or structures, including <br />the cost of servi.ce of publication of notice, together with a proper <br />description of the premises, shall be certified by the Village <br />Clerk to the County Auditor, to be placed by him upon the tax <br />duplicate to be collected as other taxes. All other costs incurred <br />under this Chapter shall be paid out of the Village Treasury and <br />the Village may institute an appropriate action in the courts to <br />recover such costs from the owner of the premises. <br />Sec. 20, pny section, subsection or part hereof which may be declared to be <br />unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction shall not <br />affect the remaitting provisions, seetions, or subsections of this <br />Ordinance. <br />Sec. 21. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety, convenience and welfare for reasons apparent from the <br />contents of said Ordinance, and therefore this Ordinance shall <br />take effect and be in force from and after its passage. <br />Passed the 15th day of August, , 1966. <br />Attest: Mayor - President of Council <br />(Seal) " ' Clerk-Treasurer
