Special arrangements may be <br />made by Council with Special Policemen whereby they shall not be paid for police <br />services performed in connection with the operation of their own businesses or <br />of businesses f or which they are compensated by the owners thereof. <br />Uniform Allowattce: <br />In addition to their regular compensation, each regular member of the <br />Police Department shall be reimbursed for the cost of uniforms purchased <br />by him for use in his police work; provided, however, that such reimburse- <br />ment shall not exceed the sum of $175.00 per year and must be supported by <br />bills showing the cost of same. In addition, each Special Policeman shall <br />be likewise so reimbursed, except that his maximum allowattce for uniforms <br />shall be $50.00 per year. <br />Hospitalization Insurance: <br />In addition to their regular compensation, the Village shall pay to <br />Blue Cross of Northeast Ohio, Inc. the cost of hospitalization medical,mutual <br />insurance for each regular member of the Police Departmettt. <br />Outside Employment: <br />No regular member of the Police Department shall work at atty other <br />employment unless he has the written approval of the Chief of Police, who <br />shall not grant such approval unless he finds that such outside employment <br />will not, due to the nature of the work and the hours to be worked, interfere <br />with the efficiency of said member of the Police Department." <br />Sec. 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergettcy measure, <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety <br />and welfare of the Village of Dlayfield and its inhabitants because of the <br />necessity of providing the maximum police protection within the limits of <br />the funds available for that purpose, and this ordinance shall take effect <br />and be in force from and after the date of its passage. <br />Passed this 19th day of June, 1967. <br />Attest: ___ ? <br />Mayo - President of Co cil <br />(SEAL) Clerk-Treasurer
