An assessment of potential hazards has been conducted within Mayfield <br />Village. The assessment details the frequency, vulnerability, exposure, and risk of <br />potential hazards to Mayfield Village. These records are maintained by the Fire <br />Chief in the Fire Department. <br />2.3.7 1-lazard Profile <br />Mayfield Village is vulnerable to many hazards, all of which have the potential <br />to disrupt the community, cause damage, and create mass casualties. The <br />Hazard Vulnerability Assessment identified specific hazards for Mayfield Village <br />and enabled arisk-based approach to be implemented in the development of <br />the EOP. The identified hazards include: <br />• Floods <br />• Tornado/High Winds <br />• Utility Failure <br />• Earthquake <br />• Civil Disorder <br />• Infectious Disease Outbreak <br />• Communications Failure <br />• Hazardous Materials Spill <br />• Mass Transportation Incident <br />• Power Failure <br />• Cyber Attack <br />• Winter Storm <br />• Temperature Extremes <br />• Chemical, Biological, Radiological, <br />Nuclear, Explosive (CBRNE) <br />2.4 Capability Assessment <br />Mayfield Village has robust response and recovery capabilities. Limitations. in <br />these capabilities are determined through annual plan reviews and exercises. <br />As limitations are identified, they are addressed through strategic planning. <br />2.5 Planning Assumptions <br />The following planning assumptions were considered in the development of this <br />plan: <br />• Disasters differ in character by magnitude, severity, duration, onset, area <br />affected, and frequency. <br />• A disaster may impact Mayfield Village resulting in casualties, property loss, <br />disruption of normal services, and damage to economic, physical, and social <br />infrastructures as a result of a disaster. <br />• The emergency management command and management structure is <br />based on NIMS guidelines. <br />41Page <br />
