6.4 Public Inf®Irmati®n and IV®tificati®n <br />Under direction from or in collaboration with the Incident Commander, the lead <br />Public Information Officer (PIO) will determine if activation of a Joint Information <br />System (JIS) and/or the Joint Information Center (JIC) is necessary. Other <br />Mayfield Village governmental entities or partnering agencies may be called to <br />participate in the JIS or JIC. Public information personnel from other responding <br />agencies may also report to the JIC or may work closely with the lead PIO as <br />part of a JIS. The lead PIO will work with EOC staff, Incident Command staff, the <br />Mayfield Village Dispatch Center, and other departments and divisions to <br />collect information and establish messaging from the media and the public as <br />quickly and frequently as possible. If necessary, Mayfield Villages' PIO may work <br />with PIOs from Cuyahoga County and/or other communities as well. Pre-scripted <br />messages and templates (e.g. press releases, advisories and fact sheets) will be <br />used to respond to emergency or preplanned events. Information will be <br />disseminated through all available media as appropriate for the audience. <br />In the event that a .press conference and/or a briefing is necessary, media <br />representatives will be directed to a media briefing area or media staging area. <br />Media representatives will not be permitted to enter the EOC complex outside <br />of the media briefing area unless approved by the EOC Manager and Lead PIO <br />and escorted by the Lead PIO or designee. Generally, media representatives <br />will only be permitted access to. the EOC for video or photographic purposes. <br />J <br />Interviews and audio will not be conducted within the EOC while the EOC is <br />activated. <br />6.4.1 V1/ebsite and S®cial IVledia <br />A regularly updated website containing Mayfield Villages emergency <br />management information is available at www.mayfieldvillage.com <br />Twitter: @Mayfieldvillage <br />Facebook: Mlayfield Village <br />In addition to utilizing social media, Mayfield Village broadcasts important <br />Village information through 'My 911 App",amass notification system. The <br />Village also publishes a quarterly newsletter, Voice of the Village, for residents <br />and the business community.
