• Provide cost breakdowns for all equipment purchased and/or leased <br />• Provide cost breakdowns for all professional services acquired <br />• Complete Preliminary Damage Assessment form (See attached) <br />~.5 Reirnbursernent <br />In order to obtain county, state, or federal reimbursement for a disaster, the <br />incident must be declared by the county, state, or federal governments, <br />respectively. Whether county, state, or federal reimbursement will be available <br />is based on the type of declaration made during or after the event. This process <br />is initiated through the County and then the State. Some examples of previously <br />declared disasters in which portions of the County received reimbursement <br />include the 2003 Blackout, Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and Hurricane Sandy in <br />2012. <br />The amount of reimbursement is based on several factors. However, in most <br />instances, FEMA reimburses not less than 75% of eligible costs. The remaining <br />non-federal share (25%) is the responsibility of Mayfield Village. If funding is <br />available, the 25% may be split between Mayfield Village, Cuyahoga County, <br />and the State. <br />Without a federal disaster declaration, financial support for victims is limited and <br />may be provided by charitable agencies, volunteer donations, and insurance <br />coverage. Those in the private sector must rely on insurance coverage or <br />obtain loans/refinancing for recovery. <br />9.0 REC®VERY AN® MITIGATI®N <br />9.1 Rec®very <br />CCOEM supports recovery operations following large-scale disasters, by <br />coordinating damage assessments on public and private property. Mayfield <br />Village will work with CCOEM to compile damage assessment data. Depending <br />on totals, compiled data may be used to seek reimbursement for Individual <br />Assistance or Public Assistance from state and federal resources. <br />9.Z ~Itlgq~l®1~ <br />Mitigation is defined as sustained actions taken to reduce or eliminate long-term <br />risk to people and their property from hazards. The primary objectives of <br />mitigation are to improve the community's resiliency to damage from known <br />181Page <br />
