ORDINANCE NO. 2002- 36 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN ADDENDUM TO <br />THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN MAYFIELD VILLAGE AND THE FRATERNAL <br />ORDER OF POLICE LODGE #57 EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2000 <br />THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2002 <br />WHEREAS, the Village has been forced to change carriers and the benefit levels <br />for employee medical insurance including prescription riders and life insurance and to <br />change carriers for dental insurance; and . <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 28.1 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement <br />entered into between the Village and the FOP Lodge #57 an Addendum to the Agreement <br />has been negotiated addressing any reduction in the insurance benefit levels. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor is authorized and directed to enter into an Addendum <br />between the Village and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #57 in the form attached <br />hereto and incorporated herein at Exhibit "A", effective April 1, 2002 and continuing until <br />?-" the end of the current contract between the parties. SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; <br />and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, <br />took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements <br />including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the <br />affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the <br />Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law. <br />Council President
